About Maxwell Park
Maxwell Park is a small, residential neighborhood situated between MacArthur Blvd. and Foothill Ave., and 55th Ave. and High Street. The neighborhood is named after the developer John P. Maxwell; construction mostly took place in the teens and the 20's, and Maxwell Park was designed and marketed as an elegant - yet affordable - alternative to more upscale neighborhoods in Piedmont, Crocker Highlands and Trestle Glen (the streets were made deliberately winding to mirror those neighborhoods; the name "Little Piedmont" was supposedly used at one time to describe Maxwell Park).
Maxwell Park today is a vibrant, diverse and tightly-knit community; it is a destination of choice for homebuyers who are attracted to the quaint architecture and the relative affordability of homes.
