About Oakmore

In 1926 the Park Boulevard Company and realtor Walter Leimert planned a new residential development in the Oakland Hills. They were attracted to the natural beauty of the area and the verdant, rolling hills offered a tranquil and secluded retreat from busy city life. They constructed the Leimert Bridge over the Sausal Creek, created access from neighboring communities, and sold 440 lots of varying sizes spread over 150 acres of what is present day Oakmore. The lots were not uniform, and Leimert took great care to retain and accentuate the natural beauty of the area; much of the old tree cover was preserved; public walkways were created and every effort was made to create a ‘model’ community.

This beautiful neighborhood has become a highly sought-after destination for homebuyers. Many are attracted to the area for its family-friendly environment, and the highly regarded Joaquin Miller School. While Oakmore retains a suburban feel, its proximity to Highways 13, 24 and 580 provides access to the Bay area’s metropolitan offerings. Shops along Park Blvd., as well as the Montclair Village and Piedmont Ave. are only minutes away.
