About Trestle Glen

Trestle Glen, Crocker Highlands and Lakeshore Highlands are all names given to some of the most exclusive neighborhoods in the Oakland foothills that lie between Highway 580 and Piedmont.

In 1917, East Bay developers, Wickham Havens and Walter Leimert conceived of an upscale residential community between Lakeshore Ave. and Park Blvd. The original plan called for a quiet, residential neighborhood, with curving tree-lined streets and abundant park space designed to blend with the natural landscape; nestled in this idyllic setting were going to be some of the East Bay’s most distinguished houses.

Today, Trestle Glen is still one of Oakland’s most sought-after communities. The neighborhood is entirely residential, but abundant shopping on nearby Grand and Lakeshore Avenues is within walking distance; Piedmont Avenue is a short drive away.

The highly-regarded Crocker Highlands Elementary is the main elementary school for the community.
