Italianate Victorian in the Rockridge neighborhood of Oakland CA.

Almost any style of architecture that you desire can be found in the East Bay. Victorians in Rockridge and around Piedmont Avenue... Period Revivals in Crocker Highlands, Redwood Heights and Oakmore... Mid-Century in El Cerrito, the Berkeley Hills and Montclair.... Craftsman homes are found in Rockridge, and around Piedmont Avenue .... and California Bungalows, the most prolific, in North Berkeley, Glenview, Laurel, Maxwell Park and more.

Victorian 1870 - 1910

The Victorian style of architecture flourished during the reign of Queen Victoria, and was named in her honor. The buildings we call "Victorians" were actually constructed during that era. East Bay examples include Folk, Queen Anne, Shingle, Italianate and Neo-Classic styles.

California Bungalow 1910 - 1925

The California Bungalow is an offshoot of the Arts and Crafts or Craftsman architectural style. They were most commonly one story or one and a half stories, with a low pitched roof, an accentuated overhang, and exposed rafter tails. They generally have a modest porch and frequently have a bay window

Prairie School Style 1910 - 1925 The name Prairie School refers to the school of architects that designed homes using Frank Lloyd Wright's concepts in their work.	Period Revival 1915 - 1940 I believe that the term Eclectic may refer to the Revival Period homes designed to look like castles and villas from many different places and periods being built in single housing developments creating a non uniform architectural look.
Mid-Century Architecture 1938 - 1965 Frank Lloyd Wright's low roof line from the Arts and Crafts and Prairie styles is reflected in the same roof line element of the mid-century homes.	Modern 1965 - present Most of the contemporary homes built in the East Bay after the mid century era were built after the 1991 Oakland Hills Fire.
