About Elmwood
The Elmwood neighborhood of Berkeley is located south of the UC Berkeley campus; to the east is the Claremont Hotel and to the south is Oakland's vibrant rockridge neighborhood. At the heart of Elmwood is a busy shopping district on College Avenue. One of the most appealing aspects of Elmwood is the residential tree lined streets with large elegant homes and convenient proximity to all that College Avenue has to offer.

Architectural Style in Elmwood
Most of Elmwood was built shortly after the turn of the century. Over all, the homes in Elmwood are large, many are two story homes. The iconic Berkeley Brown Shingle is an Elmwood phenomenon. There are also Prairie School styles, Mission Styles and Classic Box styles.
