Frank Lloyd Wright clearly had an important influence on mid-Century architecture. Many of his older design elements show up in the California architecture of the 1940s and 1950s. The low sloped roof line of his Prairie Style designs shows up in the roof lines of the mid-century homes.  The one level homes of Wright's later designs is reflected in the "Ranch Style" one level homes of the post-war period.  Wright's use of  an expanse of windows for light and view is one of the hallmarks of mid-century design.
