Post War Ranch Style

In the years following WWII a new mid-century style emerged; the one level Ranch Style. These homes were well built but without much embellishment. They were simple in detail, usually had a very nice circular floor plan and perhaps one built-n cabinet. Most of these homes did not have a formal dining room but still had a dining area usually connected to the living room and still just of the kitchen. Formal breakfast nooks had also disappeared although many of these homes still had a space for eating in the kitchen. With new contraptions for the kitchen...Osterizers and toasters...counter space was added in the kitchen.

The attached garage was also a new post war detail in homes. Cars were becoming more common place. An attached garage would have been considered a very attractive addition to improve the homeowners lifestyle.
