Half Timbers and intricate brickwork are hallmarks of Tudor Revival
Diamond paned windows and half timbers create a cottage-like look
Brick and half timbered stucco are a common combination

The Tudor Revival homes are meant to look like houses that were built in England in the 1500s.

The Tudor style homes feature:

  • Decorative half-timbering
  • Steeply pitched roofs - sometimes clipped
  • Tall narrow windows with small panes
  • Massive chimneys almost always topped with a decorative chimney pot
  • Patterned  brick or stonework
  • Massive front doors

The Tudor style lends itself to large homes although I definitely see smaller homes throughout the East Bay.
